Turkiish American Society of Ohio bake sale for Horn of Africa

Dear Friends,

Horn of Africa has had a very dry summer and Ethiopian and Somalian children are dying from starvation. They have been displaced to survival camps because of the drought. There are more than 400,000 Somalian refugees staying in the Dadaab Camp near Kenya and the number is increasing.

The only hope of survival is the food and water at refugee camps which is given to one of every four refugees who left their hometown. According to the UN report, two million children are undernourished and in order for them to survive very urgent support is needed.

As Turkish American Society of Ohio we are committed to help those who are in need around the world. In order to raise money and awareness for the people in Africa, TASO will organize a Turkish Food and Bake sale, whose all proceedings will be donated to starved and displaced refugees in Africa.

This sale will be on Saturday August 13th from 5pm to 9pm at TASO Cultural Center. At the food and bake sale, you will have a chance to taste many of the delicious Turkish dishes, salads, deserts, breads and bakery including, but certainly not limited to, shish kafta, spinach pie, lentil soup, baklava, rice pudding and many other authentic Turkish dishes.

We invite you to come and join us on August 13th to try a selection of foods from world’s one of the best cuisines, Turkish cuisine, and to support the cause of this sale. Not only you will enjoy the delicious food but also will you feel good about your purchase as it will be donated to the children and families in Africa. Do not forget to bring friends as well!
