Rescheduled Zikr Allah - March 30,2013, 7:30 pm

This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things.
Qu'ran 22:6 Yusuf Ali translation

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

You came suddenly like resurrection,
like an infinite blessing
and my thoughts burned like trees on fire.
You came today like God Himself,
generous and full of grace,
holding the key to my freedom in your hands.
Both traveller and the road,
the beginning and the end,
You are the gatekeeper of the Sun.
For so long I have lived in pain, suspended
between my longing and my need for bread.
Now that You have risen in my heart
and taken over my thoughts,
I am breaking the pen and leaving the paper.

My Sun has risen.

The sword Dhu 'l-Faqar ( in case you wanted to know)

Ali with his two sons Hasan (in green) and Husain (in red), Shia Islam's first, second and third Imam respectively. The man standing behind Ali is probably Qanbar ibn Kadan. He was a slave from Abyssinia who had been freed by Ali, and was very devoted to him.
The Arabic text la fata illa Ali la sayf illa dhu 'l-faqar, translates.: "There is no hero like Ali, there is no sword like Dhu 'l-Faqar". The sword Dhu 'l-Faqar, a booty of war which Muhammad presented to Ali, is one of Ali's attributes.

Zikr Allah cancelled due to just people's lives

I regret that the zikr will be rescheduled, I believe for next Saturday -
 I will send a notification when I know. In the meantime:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Joyous spring has arrived and the Beloved’s message has come,
we are drunk with love and intoxicated and cannot be still.
    O my darling one, go forth to the garden, do not leave the
beauties of the meadow in expectation.
    Strangers from the Unseen have arrived in the meadow; go
forth, for it is a rule that "the newcomer is visited."*
    Following your footsteps the rose has come into the rosebower,
to greet and meet you the thorn has become soft of cheek.
    Cypress, give ear, for the lily in exposition of you has become
all tongue by the bank of the river.
    The bud was tightly knotted; your grace looses knots; the rose
blossoms thanks to you, and scatters it petals over you.
    You might say that it is the resurrection, that there have raised
their heads from the earth those who rotted in December and
January, the dead of yesteryear.
    The seed which had died has now found life, the secret which
earth held has now become revealed.
    The bough which held fruit is glorying for joy, the root which
had none is shamefast and ashamed.
    After all, the trees of the spirit will become even so, the tree of
excellent boughs and fortunate will be manifest.
    The king of spring has drawn up his army and made his
provisions; the jasmine has seized the shield, the green grass
Dhu ‘l-Faqar.
    They say, "We will cut off the head of So-and-so like chives;
behold that visibly enacted in the handiwork of the Creator."
    Yes; when the succour of divine assistance arrives, Nimrod is
brought to destruction by a gnat*.
* Rumi quotes an Arabic rule of etiquette.
* Nimrod died of a gnat-bite, see Nicholson on Math. I:1189.
Zikr Allah, March 23, 2013 7:30 pm Come sit with friends in the garden, Which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?
Is there any Reward for Good other than Good? (60) Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (61) And besides these two, there are two other Gardens― (62) Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (63) Dark green in colour (from plentiful watering). (64) Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (65) In them (each) will be two springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance: (66) Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (67) In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: (68) Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (69)
Whoever is sitting with friends
is in the midst of a flower garden,
though he may be in the fire.
Whoever sits with an enemy is in the fire,
even though he is in the midst of a garden.
