SURVEYING SUFI STORIES
A workshop on Qissa Khawani Hikayat*
presented by
Shaykh Sahibzada Asim Maharvi
October 23rd, 24th, and 25th
Friday 6-9 Saturday & Sunday 9-5
The Ohio State University, Stillman Hall, Room 115
1947 College Rd, Columbus, Ohio
Qissa Khawani Hikayat is a traditional Sufi practice of sharing stories, discussing their meanings,
and developing new insights to be used as a guidance in the art of being human.
This workshop will begin with the telling of several Sufi folk
tales. Participants will discuss them as a group with Shaykh Maharvi.
They will then be encouraged to share their own stories, either ones
they have heard or ones they have created themselves. As new tales and
new insights emerge, the workshop itself may well become a story of Sufi
transcendence.
Sahibzada Asim Maharvi is a Shaykh (teacher) in the Chishti Sufi order and the founder of Chishtiya Ribbat, a center for the collection, preservation, and dissemination of Sufi practices and insights.
