Zikr Allah at the new Zawiyya al Mu'min

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Music Master"
You that love lovers,
this is your home. Welcome!
In the midst of making form, love
made this form that melts form,
with love for the door,
soul the vestibule.
Watch the dust grains moving
in the light near the window.
Their dance is our dance.
We rarely hear the inward music,
but we're all dancing to it nevertheless,
directed by the one who teaches us,
the pure joy of the sun,
our music master.
-- Version by Coleman Barks
We will celebrate the Dances of Universal Peace on Saturday, September 22 at at 7:00.
The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, and joyous circle dances that celebrate the variety of spiritual paths on Earth. They may be seen as a modern day expression of ancient practices of body prayer.
Everyone with an open and willing attitude is welcome to attend, and all movements are taught. We invite children to join the dance circle, or sometimes children's activities are offered during the dance meeting.
There is no fee to participate; donations gladly accepted.
Ramadan Begins Tomorrow
For Muslims, Ramadan begins tomorrow. It is a month of fasting, abstaining from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset. Ramadan is a time for worship, reading the Quran, and performing acts of charity and personal devotion. For more information on Ramadan see this chart from Beliefnet.
